Privacy Policy

What we collect. Your email address and password (handled by Firebase Authentication — we never see your password), the trading data you import or enter (trades, accounts, tags, screenshots), your journal and report-card entries, and basic technical logs (errors, usage timestamps) used to keep the service working.
What we use it for. Providing the journal, analytics, and briefing features you signed up for. We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use your journal content for anything other than showing it back to you.
Who processes it. Data is stored on Google Firebase (Firestore, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions) in the United States. If paid plans are enabled, payments are processed by Stripe — we never store card numbers. Market data and news shown in the app come from public sources and are not linked to your identity.
Usage counts. To learn which pages bring people in and whether the journal helps them build the habit, we count a few moments with PostHog: page visits on this site (and the site or campaign that sent you), creating an account, adding or importing trades, the morning check-in, the end-of-day review, and checkout steps. These counts carry no trade data, symbols, notes, account names or email addresses, use no cookies, and are not sent at all if your browser asks not to be tracked.
Marketing emails. If you join the update list we store your email for product announcements only. Every email includes a way to unsubscribe, or you can email us to be removed.
Your rights. You can export your trades from the app at any time, and permanently delete your account and all associated data from Settings → Delete account. Deletion is immediate and irreversible.

Terms of Service
Last updated: October 1, 2026
What Journalcade is. Journalcade is an educational trading journal and review tool. It records and analyzes trading activity you provide and displays market context from public data sources.
What Journalcade is not. It is not financial, investment, or tax advice; not a broker; and it does not place, recommend, or manage trades. Daily biases, interpretations, and analytics can be wrong — the in-app scoreboard exists to measure exactly that. Trading involves substantial risk of loss. Decisions you make are yours alone.
Your account. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for the accuracy of data you import. One account per person; don't share access. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service (automated scraping, attempting to access others' data, or disrupting the infrastructure).
Paid plans. If a paid tier is active, billing is handled by Stripe and can be cancelled anytime from the billing portal; access continues until the end of the paid period. Prices may change with notice before your next renewal.
Refunds. If Pro isn't for you, email support@journalcade.com within 7 days of your first Pro payment and we'll refund it in full. This is available once per person. When a refund is issued, Pro ends straight away and your account returns to the Free plan with your journal intact. Renewals aren't refunded: cancel any time and Pro stays on until the end of the period you paid for. If you dispute a charge with your bank, Pro is paused and renewals stop while the dispute is open. If the bank decides in your favour, the payment counts as refunded and Pro ends; otherwise Pro comes back. Nothing here limits rights you have under the law where you live.
Service quality. Journalcade is provided "as is." We work to keep it available and accurate but do not guarantee uninterrupted service or error-free data. Our liability is limited to the amount you paid in the previous 12 months.
Changes. We may update these terms; material changes will be announced in the app. Continued use after changes means acceptance.

Leaderboard Agreement
Version 2026-09-17
What joining means. Your chosen name and your journaling score appear on a leaderboard seen by other Journalcade Pro members who have also joined. The leaderboard ranks how completely and promptly you journal — never how much you make.
What other members see. The name you choose; your weekly journal score and its parts as percentages (check-in before your first trade, same-day review, plan review, setup, stop, grade and notes); your streak; how many trading days and trades you logged that week; your level and its title, which come from the XP you earn for journaling work; and your trader-rating tier — a band from Developing to World-class that combines discipline, risk control, execution, consistency, journaling and edge. Never the numbers behind the tier.
What is never shared. Your P&L, balances, account names, position sizes or instruments; the content of your notes, lessons, tags or screenshots; your email address; and your real name, unless you choose to use it as your leaderboard name.
Your name. It must not impersonate another person or Journalcade, and must not be offensive. We may remove a name that breaks this.
How scores are calculated. From your journal, using the times our servers recorded your check-ins and reviews. Inflating a score — for example with invented trades — can remove you from the leaderboard.
Leaving. You can leave at any time from the Leaderboard page. Leaving removes your name and scores from every week's board; deleting your account does the same.
No advice, no prizes. The leaderboard measures journaling habits only. It is not an assessment of trading ability or financial advice, and carries no prize unless one is announced separately.
Affiliate Program Terms
Last updated: September 13, 2026
What you earn. 25% of each payment Journalcade receives from a trader who signs up through your referral link and subscribes — for their first 12 monthly payments, made within 12 months of their first, and only while they stay subscribed. Commission is earned on money received, never on sign-ups or free accounts.
How a referral is counted. A visitor who arrives through your link is remembered on their device for 60 days; the most recent link they used counts. The account must be created after they arrive. A referral cannot be added to an existing account or moved to another affiliate.
When you are paid. Commission becomes payable 30 days after the payment it comes from — the hold that covers refunds and chargebacks — and is paid monthly by PayPal or Wise to the payout email you provide. You are responsible for any taxes on your earnings, and we may ask for tax information before paying.
Refunds and chargebacks. Commission on a refunded or disputed payment is cancelled. If it was already paid, it is deducted from your next payout.
What is not allowed. Referring yourself or accounts you control; spam or unsolicited messages; bidding on "Journalcade" or close variations in paid search; presenting yourself as Journalcade; and any claim that Journalcade, or trading, will make someone money. Journalcade is an educational journal, not financial advice, and must be promoted that way.
Changes and ending. We may change these terms or close the program with notice; commission already earned is honored. Commission obtained in breach of these terms is not paid, and we may remove access to the program. Deleting your account forfeits commission not yet paid.
Your relationship with us. Taking part does not make you an employee, agent or partner of Journalcade.
