How far back
is breakeven?
Losses and gains aren’t even. Slide to your loss and see the climb back.
Working it out…
Runs in your browser: nothing you type is sent anywhere. Arithmetic, not advice.
How it works
Three steps, no magic.
STEP 1The loss
Down 20% leaves 80% of the account.
−20%STEP 2The climb
Getting back means growing what’s left by the loss ÷ what’s left.
20 ÷ 80STEP 3The gain
The climb back is always steeper than the fall.

Stop the dig
Call the day before the hole gets deep.
Journalcade watches your daily loss, loss streak and trade count against your own rules, and calls the day when you hit one. Walking away keeps the day clean.
- Circuit breaker and a cool-down when you hit your limit
- Tilt meter: today against your own normal, while you trade
- Prop accounts with their drawdown floor, day by day

Questions
Quick answers.
Why does a 50% loss need a 100% gain?+
Because the gain is on a smaller account. Half of $10,000 is $5,000, and getting from $5,000 back to $10,000 means doubling it.
How do I keep a drawdown shallow?+
Small risk per trade and a daily loss limit you keep. Five 1% losses cost about 5%; five 10% losses cost 41%.
What does the days number mean?+
How many +1% days in a row it takes to grow back. It’s arithmetic, not a forecast.
